This costume was inspired by New York Couture's adorable owl dresses. But at $200 a piece, you're better off creating you're very own homemade version as seen above. You can take any ruffle skirt, preferably high-waisted, but it doesn't have to be. The skirt above is from Forever 21, and the ruffles resemble the owl feathers seen on the New York Couture jumper. Take any basic black tank top or body suit such as the one above, then add felt eyes to the stomach area. The shape of the owl's eyes and nose are pretty basic, so you shouldn't have a hard time creating them. Use a hot glue gun to put them on, or sew if you can.
You can wear pink tights, or whichever color you want. The ones above are from american apparel. Throw on a pair of your favorite pumps, or these crinkled metallic heels from charlotte russe. Accesorize with an owl feather headband, and you're just about done with the outfit! To complete the costume, toussle your hair for a feathery look, and put on colorful makeup.
