HALLOWEEN: MOISHE / CAROL OF WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

With the upcoming release of the Where the Wild Things Are motion picture, more and more are trying to replicate the characters as costumes. While many are going over the top with paper mache heads and the like, you can still partake with a simpler, albeit still artistic, approach.

Moishe, or Carol (in the movie), appears to wear an orange and yellow striped sweater. While I couldn't find exactly that (try your local thrift stores), I did find a yellow and white striped shirt for only $10.50, which wouldn't be too hard to paint orange on. Next, I found some leggings for only $4.50 (you could use any pants, again check a thrift store) and decided that drawing scales on them wouldn't be too hard a task either.

You'll need some accessories to pull the look together. You can find some faux fur at a craft store and make a tail, or buy one on etsy. To make horns, you can use polymer clay. I found some directions that seem fairly simple. You'll also want some claw feet and face paint to finish the look off.
